Who doesn't have a story about finding a baby bird that has fallen from it nest? One summer day in rural North Texas a baby mockingbird fell from its nest high in the pecan trees and almost became breakfast for our big, calico cat. The nest was about 30 feet above and impossible to reach. This story tells how we managed to get the mother mocking bird to care for the baby bird without putting it back in the nest. The story is over 30 years old and the illustrations were origonally done with permanent makers on Styrofoam plates. It was years later, with the use of a cell phone, computer, selfpublishing programs, and the encouragement of children and grandchildren that the book was published.
